Dad's Corner

So, my son's obsession with the TV remote has become nearly untennable. i now have to take one of the batteries out when he has it (which is quite often) to keep him from changing the channel to the asian cartoon network. this of course defeats the purpose of actually having a remote as i'm now forced to watch the same channel all the time (commercials and all).

Jen mentioned the french wine shop we visited yesterday (see above picture). she failed to mention that we enjoyed our glasses of Bordeaux at like 9:30 in the morning. she says that since we have a baby and go to bed early and get up so early that we're now allowed to drink before noon. Whoohoo! i knew having a baby would have it's perks (besides the whole blaming farts on him thing that i talked about before).

And speaking of drinking: i want to give a shout out to Restaurant Bobby Chin. i've been known to visit a bar or two in my time but i have never seen a place with a drink menu that even comes close to it (and considering how much i- ahem, never mind- let's just say that that's saying something). they have a gin and tonic with codeine (yes, codeine) but it unfortunately it would just have the same effect that other opioids (for wisdom teeth) have had on me in the past- headache. that's pretty much why- unlike Brett Favre and Matthew Perry- i could never become addicted to pain killers (that, and the whole losing my medical license thing).

anyway, we're almost out of here. despite all the fun we've had, i'm definitely looking forward to getting back to el paso (wow, now there's a sentence i never thought i'd use).

You must go to the bamboo bar at the Metropole. The martinis there are fabulous!

Can't wait to see him in person. And yes there are some perks, besides blaming fart smells Jeremy, to having kids. Happy first Mother's Day Jen :)

Drinks at 9:30 in the morning? That is one perk that I never thought of! This baby thing gets better by the minute... :-)
